10 Days Two Nations Safari Kenya&Tanzania (luxury)

Your 10-day Kenya and Tanzania safari begins with pickup from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, your Nairobi hotel, or your residence in Nairobi. You will be welcomed by your professional safari guide and the Imara Africa Safaris team for a short briefing before starting your journey toward Lake Nakuru National Park.

The drive from Nairobi to Lake Nakuru takes you through the scenic Great Rift Valley, with beautiful viewpoints, countryside landscapes, and small towns along the way. Lake Nakuru is one of Kenya’s most rewarding short safari destinations and is especially known for rhino viewing, beautiful lake scenery, acacia woodlands, rocky viewpoints, and rich birdlife.

Upon arrival, you will check in at your lodge and enjoy lunch. Later in the afternoon, you will proceed for a game drive inside Lake Nakuru National Park. The park is home to both black and white rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, waterbucks, baboons, lions, leopards, and many bird species. Depending on the season and water levels, you may also see flamingos and other water birds around the lake.

After the game drive, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay in Lake Nakuru.

After breakfast, you will check out from your lodge and enjoy a short en-route game drive as you exit Lake Nakuru National Park. You will then begin your journey to Masai Mara National Reserve, one of Africa’s most famous safari destinations.

The drive takes you through the Great Rift Valley region, local towns, rural landscapes, and open countryside. On arrival in Masai Mara, you will check in at your lodge or camp and enjoy lunch, depending on arrival time.

In the late afternoon, you will head out for your first Masai Mara game drive. This evening safari introduces you to the Mara’s wide savannah plains and excellent wildlife viewing. You may see lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, antelopes, wildebeests, hyenas, and many bird species. As the sun begins to set, the plains become beautifully golden, creating a perfect start to your Masai Mara experience.

Return to your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight stay in Masai Mara.

After breakfast, you will depart from your lodge or camp with packed picnic lunch boxes for a full-day game drive inside Masai Mara National Reserve. This is one of the biggest highlights of the safari and gives you enough time to explore different areas of the reserve.

Masai Mara is known for its open plains, big cats, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, hyenas, antelopes, and rich birdlife. Your guide will choose the best route depending on wildlife movement, weather, and the sightings of the day.

You will enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic location inside the reserve before continuing with the afternoon game drive. During the Great Migration season, usually around July to October, the Masai Mara becomes one of the best places to witness large herds of wildebeests and zebras moving through the ecosystem. Depending on timing and wildlife movement, guests may also have a chance to visit the Mara River area.

In the evening, return to your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight stay in Masai Mara.

After an early breakfast, you will check out and begin the journey from Masai Mara to Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. This is an important cross-border travel day and can be a long but rewarding journey depending on the chosen route, border formalities, road conditions, and final accommodation location in Serengeti.

You will travel toward the Kenya–Tanzania border, complete the necessary immigration and entry procedures, and continue toward Serengeti National Park. Your guide and safari team will help coordinate the travel flow to make the cross-border transfer as smooth as possible.

As you enter Serengeti, the landscape begins to open into wide plains, giving you the feeling of entering one of the most legendary safari destinations in Africa. Depending on arrival time, you may enjoy an en-route game drive as you proceed to your lodge or camp.

Serengeti is famous for its vast plains, big cats, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeests, zebras, hyenas, and rich predator activity. Arrive at your accommodation for check-in, dinner, and overnight stay in Serengeti.

After breakfast, you will spend a full day exploring Serengeti National Park, one of Africa’s most famous and wildlife-rich safari destinations. The Serengeti is known for its vast open plains, dramatic skies, big cat sightings, and large populations of plains game.

Your safari guide will take you through different sections of the park in search of lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, hippos, hyenas, antelopes, and many bird species. The route will depend on wildlife movement, the season, and the best sightings reported in the area.

You will enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park or return to the lodge depending on the day’s plan and accommodation location. Serengeti offers excellent opportunities for photography, especially around open plains, kopjes, river areas, and wildlife gathering points.

In the evening, return to your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight stay in Serengeti.

After breakfast, you will check out and enjoy an en-route game drive as you leave Serengeti National Park and travel toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This route offers more opportunities to see wildlife as you drive through the Serengeti plains and surrounding landscapes.

Depending on the route and timing, there may be optional stops or scenic viewpoints along the way. Your guide will plan the day based on travel conditions, park regulations, and the location of your accommodation.

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is one of Tanzania’s most remarkable safari regions and is home to the famous Ngorongoro Crater. The crater is often described as one of the most beautiful wildlife areas in Africa because of its dramatic landscape, high concentration of animals, and unique volcanic setting.

Upon arrival, you will check in at your lodge or camp and enjoy the cooler highland atmosphere. Dinner and overnight stay will be in the Ngorongoro area.

After an early breakfast, you will descend into the famous Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive. The crater is one of Tanzania’s most special wildlife destinations, known for its breathtaking scenery and high concentration of animals within a relatively compact area.

During the crater game drive, you may see lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, hippos, hyenas, jackals, antelopes, and many bird species. The crater also offers a chance to see rhinos, although sightings depend on the day and wildlife movement. The scenery is equally impressive, with open grasslands, swamps, lake areas, and crater walls creating a dramatic safari backdrop.

You will enjoy a picnic lunch during the day before ascending from the crater and continuing toward Tarangire National Park or the Tarangire area. Tarangire is known for its large elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, seasonal wildlife movement, and peaceful safari atmosphere.

After breakfast, you will enjoy a game drive in Tarangire National Park, depending on your lodge location and travel schedule. Tarangire is one of Tanzania’s most beautiful parks, especially known for elephants, baobab trees, riverine landscapes, and excellent birdlife.

During your game drive, you may see elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, antelopes, lions, and many bird species. After the morning safari experience, you will begin your journey toward the Tanzania–Kenya border.

You will complete the necessary border formalities and continue into Kenya toward Amboseli National Park. This is another cross-border travel day, so timing will depend on road conditions, border procedures, and your final accommodation location.

Amboseli is famous for its large elephant herds and views of Mount Kilimanjaro on clear days. On arrival, check in at your lodge or camp, relax, and enjoy dinner and overnight stay in Amboseli.

After breakfast, you will spend a full day exploring Amboseli National Park. This is one of Kenya’s most scenic safari parks and is especially famous for its large elephant herds and the possibility of seeing Mount Kilimanjaro in the background on clear days.

Amboseli offers open plains, wetlands, seasonal marshes, acacia areas, and excellent wildlife viewing. During the game drive, you may see elephants, lions, cheetahs, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, hyenas, antelopes, and many bird species.

Your guide will plan the route based on the best wildlife activity of the day. You may enjoy picnic lunch inside the park or return to the lodge depending on the day’s arrangement. Amboseli is also one of the best places for safari photography, especially in the early morning and late afternoon when the light is soft and the mountain may be visible.
